Norfolk Black Film Festival 2009

Running throughout Black History Month

With an eye on the 50th anniversary of Motown and its continuing influence as the backbone of popular music, the 2009 film festival boasts an array of interesting screenings, from The Wiz and Standing in the Shadows of Motown to cult classic Blacula and literary classic The Color Purple. Famous names featured in this year’s line-up include Tina Turner and Michael Jackson.

Missing your favourite and think it should be featured in future festivals? Send in your ideas for films that you feel should be included as part of the 2010 Norfolk Black Film Festival programme to Creative Arts East. Are you a local Black filmmaker with films to screen?
