  • Jomo Kenyatta - Kenyan Community Event

    Jomo Kenyatta was the first president of independent Kenya as leader of the Kenyan African National Union in December 1964 and a prominent independence leader.

    As president, he worked to establish harmonious race relations, appealing to all to forget past injustices and work together for the development of Kenya.

    This Kenyan Community event celebrating his life and achievements will be held on Saturday 22nd of October from 4 PM to 6 PM and the programme includes:

    • Brief history of Kenya/Tanzania before and after independence
    • The lives of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere and the struggle for independence
    • Kenyan/Tanzanian food
    • Kenyan/African music
    • Raffle.

    Open to people of all ages from all communities. Official programme ends at 6 PM, but people can stay for music till 10 PM. Feel free to bring some of your own music.
