These exhibitions will display the findings of two current heritage projects: Islam in Norfolk and My I.D. which is a partnership between CMedia and Future Projects.

Islam in Norfolk – uncovering the history of Islam in Norfolk. As part of the Islam in Norfolk project, CMedia worked with a group of young Muslims to produce a new documentary telling the story of this unique community of predominantly British-born converts to Islam. The documentary charts the journey of this community from its beginnings in London in the 1970s via Morocco to finally settling in Norwich. The community is renowned across the world as a centre of Islamic scholarship and leadership in the West, yet its story has remained, until now, relatively unknown to the inhabitants of our county.

My I.D. is a project where ten young people from the local BME community look at the issue of local and national Black role-models. The exhibition will include ten short films made by the young people, in which they will profile a national and local role-model who they personally find inspiring. The exhibition will also include ten profiles (photography and text) of local Black role models who have been chosen by the young people.
